National Home Ownership Month 2021

June is National Homeownership Month.

The Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC) sponsored their 9th annual free Homeownership Conference on June 26, 2021 – but virtually this time. First-time homebuyers and repeat buyers learned that “Homeownership is Within Reach”. Virtual exhibits, industry experts, workshops, homebuyer networking, giveaways, inspiration, and hope were all just a click away.

Since 2001, VCCDC has helped thousands of low-to-moderate-income families achieve their dream of homeownership with:

• 18,000+ individuals obtaining financial education and coaching

• $9 million provided in down payment assistance

• $162 million in financing for first and second mortgages

Per the VCCDC, as of September 2020, only 33% of Californians can afford to purchase a median-priced home. Learn more about the steps on the path to homeownership at upcoming workshops.
