From Tossed to Repurposed Treasures

Decluttering and organizing before putting your house on the market is a must-do prep.  But before you toss items in the trash pile there may be a chance to actually treasure them instead in your new home.

Multipurpose kitchen stools. If that old step stool has seen better days, give it a spray paint job. Hot glue some tulle around the seat or add superhero stencils or stickers and now you have a functional and fun addition to any kid’s room. Tip: Use it as a décor, plant, book, or towel stand as well.

Tarnished silverware embellishments. Need a unique gift wrap for that host/hostess gift or house warming present?  Leave that vintage finish and add those forks, spoons, and knives to the bows and ribbons that adorn the gift basket or box filled with household goodies. Tip: These could also be magnets for the fridge to display family photos and kids’ artwork.

Candleholder wine glasses. No need to trash all those water stained glasses.  Save a few to complement your dining room décor with a table setting that shines. Add some glitter dots to the outside of the glass and votive candles on top of small pebbles inside (helps with wax drips). Place them in between some greenery on a table runner for a candlelight dinner display. Tip: change out the votives for seasonal décor like mini pumpkins, ornaments, or petals.
